*when it supposedly is 'test' week*

doumo minna... it's been a 'stressing' 3 days of class after 4 heavenly days of hols... *sigh*

wednesday --->
**the morning started alrite, had OBG class in the morning... somehow, i dont really like the lecturer though... feels to me tht she's a bit biased *eg: she'll ignore if i'm giving an answer, but if another person who's not wearing head scarf answers, she easily acknowledges them* oh well, it may juz be my feelings though...

**went to udupi hospital after lecture for medicine1.. poor afra and faisal who got a highly uncooperative pt... they could only present half of the case bcoz they could not get proper cooperation frm the pt or his family... and to make matters worse, a PG took our case presentation for the day... wht's so bad about it u might ask... nothing much, except for the fact tht he came in at 1220pm and left at 1255pm when the class was supposed to begin at 1130am and end at 1230pm.. dah lar dier ajar pun main2, mcm nak tak nak jek... *dush2 him*

**at 230pm, i traveled back to udupi for surgery2 with afra and aini in an auto bcoz we missed the bus... Dr. Shennoy taught us about examination of a lymph node swelling... oh dear!!! standing for almost and hour plus everyday can give all of us varicose veins lar my dear sir... werent u the one who taught us tht long-standing ppl are susceptible for it? then, how come u tak bagi kitorg sit in classes... ish2.... *_* nways, the class ended with him asking to read up on lymphoedema for the next class...

**went up to the male medicine ward to take history of the pt for our case... me, anusha and aini were in charge of the case for the next day... sadly though, the pt was also uncooperative like afra's pt earlier this morning.... argggghhhh!!! wht is it eh? global uncooperative day ke?? finally, we had to settle with going thru his hospital file to get to knw about his case so tht we could study for it at nite... tsk2...

thursday --->
**we learned about various vitamins in paediatrics lecture... feels like a deja vu of biochem... all the scotopsin and rhodopsin and beri2 and scurvy was discussed.. i wouldnt complain about this bcoz it's way better than wht happened next in udupi....

**went to udupi and into the medicine ward.. wanted to take history and do examinations but the pt was not willing to cooperate.. told Dr. Ram about the matter and he spoke to the pt on our behalf, trying to convince him to let us do our examinations on him.. it seemed like he had agreed to it at 1st, but once Dr. Ram left, the pt started being stubborn again and didnt allow us to touch him... he even stiffened his arm when i wanted to take his BP and suddenly sat up sending the BP apparatus partially flying b4 i managed to catch it... *_* and so, we then decided to talk to the son of the pt to at least get a proper history, but it was also to no avail... it seems like the pt had also told the son not to speak to us.. *or so we thought..* uwaaaa.... yabbai so sore!!! i was so upset tht Dr. Ram will get mad at us for not doing our job properly... and when he did come up later for the presentation, Dr. Ram was slightly upset with us initially, till he realised tht the pt actually had typhoid psychosis *which btw, i nvr knew was a complication of enteric fever bcoz we nvr learned about it b4* due to untreated typhoid for the past 2weeks... woah!!! it was a relief to hear him say tht *though it's a pity tht such a thg shud happen to a person* ceh!!! no wonder lar the pt wasnt cooperative, rupa2nyer he's in altered sensorium...

**surgery class in the evening was fully on thyroid *eventhough Dr. Shennoy told us to read another topic the earlier day* ish2... why lar cant this 'tempe' all stick to one thg... thank god we could remember all about the thyroid gland frm its anatomy to physiology to biochemistry... after discussing lengthily on those 3topics about thyroid gland, then only did we proceed into the surgery class proper... some of my batch A mates were lucky enuf to get the chance to see FNAC of the gland.. i wanted to see it too, but only a few students were allowed to enter the room to avoid making the pt uncomfortable... nways, we ended the class with Dr. Shennoy telling us to read up everythg frm our 1st class upto the class today bcoz he'll be conducting a test on the next day... WTH???!!! why lar last minute br nak bgth?? dah lar i have msa meeting at nite... arghhhh!!! how do i finish reading everythg???

friday--->
**community medicine lecture by Dr. Pavan.. somethg about the equilibrium btwn the healthy state and the diseased state of a person... but wht intrigues and interests me the most was the part where we discussed about taking thgs for granted in life... stuffs like food and health being taken for granted are somewht accepted... but wht really surprised me was when some of my btch mates said some stuffs about taking parents or friends for granted... wow!! i never did think of tht.. i mean, i never *and i doubt tht i ever will* take those 2 important thgs for granted in my life... to me, those 2 thgs are the most precious thgs in my life without which i dont think i can live.. so, u can imagine my shock to hear ppl saying tht they or others might be taking it for granted... ish2... these ppl really should learn to start cherishing this 2 wonderful 'gifts' tht God has given to keep a person company and to prevent loneliness...

**medicine1 in udupi went smoothly.. amy and alex did quite a good job presenting their case as their pt was fully cooperative.. though Dr. Mahesh was being his normal stern self and expected more detailed answers frm both of them for his questions, he wasnt really angry when they or other ppl in the btch couldnt answer his Qs... instead, he juz told us to read up on the matter for the case tmrw which is going to be almost similar to the case today... at 1245pm, i thought tht he would allow us to go back, but instead, Dr. Mahesh led us into another room to observe an LP being done... we observed all the steps of sterilisation and anaethesia done on the pt.. me and a few of my friends were then asked to hold the pt to avoid her frm moving while the stillete was being pushed in.. some amount of blood came out when the doctor pushed in the stillette... after a while of trying, he still couldnt get thru the resistant to enter the subarachnoid space... meanwhile, i was starting to get dizzy... and i seriously felt like i was about to pass out... and so, i decided to leave the room.. reflecting back, i realized tht the dizziness episode was most probably due to me not eating my dinner the previous nite and also due to me being in a small room full of ppl causing it to be less ventilated and more warm... wahaha... the funny part is tht, some ppl thought i was noxious bcoz i saw blood.. eh?? dont u thnk tht tht is an absurd thought when i'm actually planning to be a Dr... besides, i've seen more blood than wht was seen today... and so, rest assured, i'm not afraid of blood!!!!

**reached udupi for surgery2 with a heavy heart... i didnt study for the test at all!! i'm so dead!!! ish2... but thank god, at last minute, Dr. Shennoy decided to cancel the test... *relieved sigh...it's time like this tht i like the 'tempe' fickle-mind..hehe..* instead, a PG taught us the examination of pts with thyroid enlargement symptoms... and so, we got to finish our class early today... yippeee!!! ^^

soreja minna, i've got to complete my learning portfolio tonite so tht i can get it signed tmrw by all the lecturers... lets juz hope tht i'll be able to stay awake long enuf to finish up all tht i have to do.... omoshiroii na how i can stay up all nite watching movies or dramas but cant keep my eyes open even for an hour if i'm sitting in front of a book... tsk2... wht a bad habit this future doctor has... *_*

p/s: to anyone who ever listens to a murmur in a pt, do say out clearly and properly the type of murmur the pt might be having to avoid embarassment ne... it's ejection systolic murmur tau!! not 'ejaculation' systolic murmur... wahaha... how lar did u make such a mistake D---??? *winks*
